Stanley’s paintings incorporates a range of materials including oil on paper, mixed media on paper and large canvases and embraces a range of techniques in terms of mark making and expression. Producing Fluid and dynamic artworks, resulting from a working practice that is challenging and powerful. His vigorous approach to painting is produced by a layering, back and forth process, scraping back or re-working to produce a surface that imitates the landscape itself. His work captures the essence of places we all know and love as seen through the eyes of an artist.
